1. Beautiful ancient town of Luang Prabang
The best way to visit interesting heritage buildings in traditional Lao architecture is on foot or bicycle. Most hotels, restaurants, cafes are concentrated around the city so you do not need any knotty vehicle. There’s absolutely no modern building or any 2-storey house.
2. Pak Ou Caves

3. Shopping in Luang Prabang
There are 2-3 markets around Luang Prabang but the most famous is the night market, located on the center road. Unlike any other market, Luang Prabang Night Market is flooded with silver souvenirs, traditional toys ... This is also the ideal place for you to buy gifts for relatives and friends. Additionally, you can also find other interesting gifts at Hmong market. The market opens during the day and sells a lot of paintings of the city's local artists.
4. Lao Cuisine
The food in Luang Prabang is considered clean, cheap and tasty. The local specialty cakes sold everywhere in the city are quite tasty and also at affordable price. Besides, famous Lao coffee is a world’s famous premium drink. If coming here, you should try a nice little bar to enjoy a cup of coffee. Along the banks of the Mekong River, there are also many restaurants combined Laotian and French cuisine.
5. Whisky Village
The village is nestled on the bank of Mekong river and on the way to the Pak Ou caves, where the boats choose as a stopover for about 30 minutes before continuing the journey. Famous specialty of the village is the local whiskey or other types which soaked with snakes, insects and sold in unique-shaped bottles. The handmade Lao silk and other fabrics are popular commodities sold for tourists here.
